Summer Isles Hotel Overview

Location: Achilitibuie, Wester Ross, Scotland

The Summer Isles Hotel sits in one of Scotland’s most remote and beautiful coastal locations with exceptional views over the bay to the Summer Isles. The drive to Achilitibuie is spectacular, taking in a landscape of lochs, spate rivers and rocky moorland past striking local crags and mountains. This is Scotland’s West Coast as its ruggedly beautiful best.

Originally built in 1860 as a fishing inn for the Cromarty Estate, the Summer Isles Hotel has grown in size and reputation over the years to become a firm favourite with guests, who love the superb food and wine and first class hospitality.

The Summer Isles offers guests a choice of 14 individually designed bedrooms, with 10 having views of the sea and the Summer Isles. The hotel is dog-friendly with the majority of guest rooms and the bar accommodating dogs.

Originally a Wester Ross crofter’s pub, the hotel bar is still popular with the local community as well as serving hotel guests. They offer a wide choice of beer and ales as well as malt whiskies, speciality gins and wines by Corney & Barrow. The hotel bar also offers bistro style food at lunchtimes and in the evenings.

The hotel restaurant offers guests a more formal environment for dinner and its menu is focused on the superb sustainable local seafood and on local produce from the land.

This truly is a magnificent setting for a hotel and it’s the perfect West Coast location to relax and switch off from everyday life. Guests can book a boat trip to the Summer Isles to bird watch and see the local seal colony and the area is perfect for walking, hiking and for the more energetic, climbing a Munro.
