The Meikleour Arms Overview

Location: Meikleour, Perthshire, Scotland

The Meikleour Arms is a charming traditional inn with rooms located on the outskirts of the pretty village of Meikleour in Perthshire, between Perth and Blairgowrie. Surrounded by enchanting countryside and farmland, the Meikleour Arms is close to the River Tay and the breathtaking Meikleour Beech Hedges, dating back to 1745 and now reaching over 30 metres in height.

This classic Scottish country inn has updated and refurbished in recent years to provide exceptional boutique-style guest bedrooms blended with a restaurant serving superb food and a cosy and popular bar.

There’s a choice of 11 individually shaped, designed and decorated guest bedrooms, all ensuite and all exuding comfort and an elegant simplicity. The hotel also offers a choice of cottages located a short drive away. The award-winning bar at the Meikleour Arms is popular with residents and visitors and in the warmer months there’s a beer garden for al fresco drinks.

The owners also own their own farm so supply the restaurant with the very best local produce. With rural Perthshire and the River Tay also on the doorstep, there’s no shortage of great locally sourced meat, game and fish. Provenance is everything here and they describe the restaurant as a ‘local institution, a traditional British country pub with Gallic zest’. We wholeheartedly agree!

As well as great local walks and hikes, Perthshire offer guests a wealth of things to see and do. There’s fishing, golf and the chance to explore local gardens and country houses, including the nearby Scone Palace, seat of the Earls of Mansfield.
