Hotel Crayon Rouge Overview

Hotel Crayon Rouge (yes, Hotel Red Crayon) sits in an enviable location right in the heart of Paris. The Louvre is a gentle 10 minute stroll from the hotel and there are so many of Paris’s greatest sights all within walking distance. The likes of Notre Dame Cathedral, Palais Garnier and Place de la Concorde can all be easily reached on foot. If your legs need a rest the local metro stop, Palais Royal, is just a few minutes away from the hotel and will open up all of Paris to you.

The hotel embraces its artistic name and the bold use of colours throughout the public spaces ensures a warm and welcoming feel to the hotel. The front desk staff deliver great service and are a useful resource for local tips on dining and days out. Breakfast is a continental buffet with fresh pastries, preserves, cold meats and juices. Breakfast can be pre-paid or paid locally, we love the flexibility of paying locally as it gives you the option of heading out and exploring the local breakfast scene too.

Rooms follow the flow of the rest of the hotel with lots of colour use and some striking wall coverings too – so much care has been taken to really make the rooms stand out. The standard rooms are not large, typically Parisian, but a great base if you’re out exploring all day and into the night. If you want more room to spread out then we suggest upgrading to a Deluxe Vintage Room or Junior Suite.

Reviews of Hotel Crayon Rouge

  • Kirsty and Irene, August 2025

We really loved the hotel Crayon Rouge. Its location was unbeatable: right in the heart of Paris, only minutes from the Louvre, with nice cafes/bistros nearby, and yet it was in a very peaceful street so it wasn’t noisy at night and felt very safe. The room was very spacious for Paris, and even had its own bookcase stocked with lots of novels, books on Paris, etc! The breakfast area was very cosy and homely, so it was a very relaxing start to each day. The staff were lovely too. The day that we had the early start for the Giverny tour, they let us use the breakfast buffet early. Being such a small hotel made everything very peaceful and homely. We were also really glad that you had arranged the transfers from CDG to/from the hotel, as it made that part of the holiday very smooth too.
