3 days in Prague: Jan’s Winning Trip
From competition winner to Prague explorer, Jan shares her unforgettable three-day getaway.
Along with her travel companion, Jan enjoyed three wonderful days exploring the Czech capital, taking in its incredible architecture, historic sights, delicious food and plenty of laughter along the way. After returning home, Jan kindly shared her experience along with some fantastic photos, and we couldn’t wait to share her Prague story!
Day 1: Old Town charm and an evening on the Vltava
After arriving at Prague Airport, Jan found getting into the city nice and straightforward. They arranged an Uber from the airport before heading to their hotel, the K&K Central Hotel. The hotel proved to be the perfect base for their trip, thanks to its fantastic location. Even better, Jan and her companion were delighted to discover they had been upgraded to a beautiful room.
And there was an extra special surprise waiting for Jan.
As the trip was celebrating her 60th birthday, the hotel had arranged a bottle of bubbly to welcome her on arrival. After checking in, there was no time to waste. The Old Town was just a short walk away, so they headed straight out to explore.
They arrived just in time to see Prague’s famous Astronomical Clock put on its hourly display. Jan loved the atmosphere of the Old Town Square, surrounded by beautiful historic buildings and packed with tempting restaurants. They booked an evening river cruise with Prague Boats, complete with a welcome drink, hot buffet and music. Cruising along the Vltava as Prague’s spectacular architecture passed by made for a magical first evening in the city.

Day 2: Prague Castle, breathtaking views and plenty of laughter
Day two started early, with Jan and her daughter heading to Prague Castle to explore the castle grounds, cathedral and surrounding historic buildings. It quickly became one of the highlights of the entire trip.
The magnificent St. Vitus Cathedral left a lasting impression, while the views across Prague from the castle were simply breathtaking. With the city stretching out below them, it was easy to see why Prague is considered one of Europe’s most beautiful destinations.
In the afternoon, they visited the Museum of Fantastic Illusions, which turned out to be a brilliant choice and, according to Jan, a particularly entertaining one!

It was the perfect way to round off a busy day of exploring, adding a little fun and silliness to the itinerary.
Day 3: One last wander around Prague
Sadly, all good things must come to an end.
After checking out of the K&K Central Hotel, Jan headed back towards the Old Town for some last-minute shopping and souvenir hunting, the perfect opportunity to pick up a few reminders of their special trip. Then it was time to arrange another Uber and head back to the airport for their afternoon flight home.
Three days might not sound like long, but Jan was amazed by just how much they managed to see and do.
A Prague trip to remember
